The Community Services Division is one of three major operating divisions of United Way of Broome County. It is responsible for overseeing several related and vitally important functions, including the fund distribution system (including recommendation of allocations for United Way member agencies) and the planning process. It supervises the Allocations Steering Committee, several allocation panels, the Venture and Special Assistance Grant Review Committee, any committees formed to review gifts-in-kind donations, and various ad hoc committees regarding allocations and planning activities. It is composed of a chair, vice chair, people appointed by United Way of Broome County's Board of Directors, panel chairs, and additional members who have knowledge of health, recreation, and/or welfare needs in the community.
