Local organizations and individuals were recognized by United Way of Broome County for their outstanding service and dedication
to the 2006 Campaign.
Corporate Awards
Corporate Award Certificates are given to organizations to
recognize new corporate donors and to recognize increases of 5 percent or
better than the prior year’s Campaign. (These have not been announced
yet.)

Alexis
de Tocqueville Society
Tocqueville Society recognition is given to individuals whose annual
giving totals $10,000 or more. There
are two levels of recognition, Membres de al Society, for donations of $10,000
to $24,999 per year; and Ordre de Liberte which recognizes giving that exceeds

Thomas
J. Watson Society
Watson Society recognition is given to organizations whose combined
employee and corporate giving totals $10,000 or more. There
are four levels of recognition, with the highest Platinum level for
organizations whose combined giving exceeds $100,000. Click here

F. Johnson Society
Johnson Society recognition goes to individuals whose yearly
giving totals $1,000 or more. There
are three levels of recognition, with the highest Gold level for
organizations whose combined giving exceeds $5,000. Click here

Challenge Cup Awards
The United Way of Broome County Challenge Cups are awarded each year to the
organizations with the highest per capita giving in each of 14 categories,
considering both employee and corporate gifts.
- Small Businesses (less than 24 employees) – Columbia

Each year, United Way recognizes Campaign volunteers who have excelled
through their leadership, inspiration, and dedication. These outstanding

In
addition, some
United Way
volunteers were eligible to win an additional prize. To meet the criteria for
the drawings, the person must be the United Way
representative at an organization that conductive a successful campaign.
Specifically, the organizations must have achieved $50 per capita in donations
to the
2006
United Way
Campaign and/or a 10 percent increase in its donations to
United Way
over 2005. About 100 people qualified for the drawings. The prizes were
$250 in gasoline at Manley Mart,
which were donated by FOX40 WICZ-TV. The
winners were:
