Adult Housing
Provides safe, low-cost housing and supportive services for women and their
children. Supportive services include counseling, advocacy, and
information and
referral.

Assistance and Referral Program
Offers assistance to residents with numerous basic needs, by providing referrals
to human service agencies and programs in and outside of the Deposit area.

Foundation and Rural Housing Services
Center for Help
Provides referrals to appropriate agencies for provision of housing, health,
and welfare. Insures access to most current job openings through postings from
local and out-of-state employers. Acts as a registrant for constituents with
children for the New York State Child Health Plus Program. Emphasizes programs,
events, educational and health opportunities through provision of brochures and
postings from community agencies.

Crisis Services (Project Uplift)
Critical Incident Response Team provides mental
health services to individuals or groups who experience a critical incident such
as a violent act, a disaster, or a death or injury witnessed by non-emergency
personnel (voluntary basis). Project Uplift provides case
management to non-mentally ill homeless individuals and families.

Health Association of the Southern Tier
Emergency Assistance
Salvation Army program provides immediate emergency material assistance to individuals and families
in need. Includes food baskets, clothing, household goods, and a daily bread
line. On-site community kitchen serves breakfast Monday through Friday and
dinner Thursday through Monday. Catholic Social Service program provides food
and clothing vouchers to individuals or families in economic crisis situations.
Provides layettes for newborns. Offers toy/clothing program in early December
for children who are less than 13 years old.

Emergency Housing
Provides temporary, emergency shelter to women age 16 or older (and their
children) who are in a crisis situation and without housing or funds to pay for
it. Offers 24-hour a day emergency admission, counseling, and assistance in
securing housing and a source of income. Includes emergency food pantry and
clothing bank.

Emergency Programs
Provides rapid response assistance, including food, clothing, shelter,
financial assistance, and emergency communication, to victims of disasters or
emergencies.
American Red Cross,

Homeless
and Low-cost Housing
Rents 85 single-occupancy rooms on daily, weekly, or monthly basis to adult
men. Emergency shelter also available to homeless men for up to three days.
YMCA of Broome
County
Intensive Independent Living
Provides permanent housing and services for women ages 18 to 23 and their
children. Services include vocational/educational counseling and job training
referral.
YWCA of Binghamton/Broome
County
Legal Services
Provides free legal counsel and representation to low-income, elderly, and disabled persons
in non-criminal matters that affect the client’s income, housing, or physical
safety.

Non-residential Services
Assists victims of domestic violence who are in need of advocacy with law
enforcement, judicial, and social service systems.
SOS Shelter
Refugee Program
Provides many services for refugees in Broome County, including assistance in
obtaining housing and food, interpreter services for appointments with health
providers or government agencies, and job counseling.
American Civic
Association
Residential Services
Provides safe housing for victims of domestic violence and their
children. Also offers food, clothing, counseling, and a crisis hotline.

Provides emergency material assistance through community volunteers to
individuals and families who are residents of Deposit, Whitney Point, and
Windsor.
